Virtual cards: approved, rolling out

Paying for Spotify Premium in Nigeria

A small monthly charge that a naira card still manages to refuse.

Why Spotify payments fail from Nigeria

    • It is a recurring foreign charge, which is the category Nigerian issuers block most readily — the amount being small does not help.
    • Spotify prices by region, and the payment method is expected to match the account's country.
    • When the renewal fails the account drops to free without much warning, taking downloads offline with it.

The common workaround is a place on somebody's family plan, often bought from a stranger. It is cheap and it works, right up until the plan owner removes you, changes the address, or disappears — and your library goes with the account, not with you.

Spotify is the smallest of these payments and one of the most annoying, because the fix people accept is renting access to their own music.

    Where this stands today

Spotify is not payable through FirstFlip today. The card is approved and rolling out, and early access is open.

A region-matched Spotify gift card works where one is sold; a mismatched code is money gone, so check the region before buying from anyone.
